A Quick Warning!.... If you know much about AdSense, then you probably already knowthat AdSense is notoriously quick to ban webmasters they feel havebroken the rules. Unfortunately, this often results in innocent webmasters losing their accounts.
Not only are they quick to ban, but they are also very strict about restoring a webmaster’s access to the program. VERY few people who have been banned have ever come back from the deep, dark depths of BanWorld. Google claims they don’t make many mistakes, and that the vast majority of webmasters who are banned have broken at least one rule. This may very well be true. But there are still many webmasters outthere, some with very excellent reputations, who claim they’ve beenbanned without cause.
I say this not to instill panic in you, but to caution you. I don’t want you to constantly live in fear that you’ll lose your AdSense account just any day, and consequently any income you may be making with it. Odds are that won’t happen. But you must be careful to avoid making some of the most obvious mistakes. If you do lose your account, all is not lost. It is possible to get your account back, it’s just very difficult. You may have to make multiple requests, and the burden of proof that you didn’t break any rules will be on you. For this purpose, it’s recommended that you run some sort of AdSense protection script on your site. There are very advanced version of these scripts available. They can do everything from blocking multiple clicks from the same IP address, to allowing you to block certain IP addresses (like your own so you don’t accidentally click your own ads), and even recording all clicks in case you need proof later than any click fraud did not originate from your IP address.
